Supporting New and Expectant Moms: My Talk at Austin Moms Blog’s Bloom Event on Emotional Wellness and Motherhood

I had the joy and honor of speaking at Austin Moms Blog’s Bloom—a beautiful gathering created just for new and expectant mothers in the Austin community. Hosted by an incredible team of women who truly care about supporting moms at every stage, this event was packed with heart, wisdom, and practical tools for motherhood.

I spoke about the emotional terrain of new motherhood—the quiet identity shifts, the invisible labor, and the beauty (and intensity) of holding so much at once. I offered simple, grounding tools for nervous system regulation and emotional self-support, all through a trauma-informed lens.

There was such tenderness in the room. These mamas were soaking in every word, not because they didn’t know what to do—but because they finally had permission to feel everything they were carrying. One attendee came up afterward and said, “I didn’t realize how much I needed that space to just be. Thank you.”

That’s why I show up for events like this. Because parenting is sacred work, and mamas deserve spaces where they are deeply seen, supported, and strengthened.
