Create Space for a Miracle

I am getting my brakes fixed right now. This is the 2nd time this week I'm getting something on my car repaired.

Today I met a 5-year-old named Bella. She was with her aunt, who has custody of Bella because her mom and dad aren't providing a good environment for her.

As they walked in, I felt all the angst of the aunt - "Do this... don't do that...get off the floor." And so I stepped in and made friends with Bella. I talked to her, so that Auntie would know she could relax a little.

Sometimes I just want to take in every child that needs something. Have you ever felt that way? It's heartbreaking to know not all children and loved lavishly.

Two days ago at the same car repair center, I met Keke, she's a domestic abuse survivor, has three boys, and is newly married. She and her new husband have set out to be in ministry, and when I asked her what church she attended, she said, "We are the church." Perfect.

When I found out I landed TEDx, I knew I wanted to honor the blessing.  I wanted to create space in my heart and my mind for ideas to formulate, for me to learn and grow, and for me to get really still. I wanted to be able to listen to my intuition. I wanted to create space for a miracle.

So I removed social media from my phone, and since then, I have read 3 books, connected with more people like Bella and Keke, and written tons of notes for TEDx

If you are yearning for more of something but are not sure how to get it. Take the first step and create a space for it in your life. If there is no space for that miracle to land, it won't. Maybe that space looks like more optimism, maybe it looks like more free time, maybe it looks like an open mind, and maybe it looks like rest.

Something has got to give. We cannot do it all. And that is MORE THAN OKAY.

What you want - wants to find you. Create a little space for it.

all my best - Catia
